Ice Cream, Cabinets, Blood Again

My life is a mess of deep cleaning, finally catching up with irl friends/relations, and reading this fascinating book on childhood in the middle ages (may or may not result in more Orinus fic someday). I got a chance to make my favorite weird ice cream (pictured below with cake, coffee, and very aesthetic dishes), my cabinets are finally done, and I sent out some handwritten fic to people who requested it following this tumblr post re: what we should all do following the ao3 DDoS attacks. (People who want an FFT double drabble and are willing to trust me with a physical address may still inquire)






Also became one of those few lucky people to win a gift card from blood giving. My suffering paid off. :]

:] Thanks! I've really come to enjoy doing more and more stuff with mail and physical media over the years, and it's super fun to commit fic to something as tangible as paper.

Holy crap that's a good idea. I love writing by hand and have a ton of stationery that I will probably never use up...I've always wanted to write letters to people but I never know what to say in them, lol.

Probably...almost 20 years ago at this point (wow) I was in an LJ RP community where we would send in-character postcards to each other, which was super fun. Mailing epistolary fic that was made to look like the character in question actually wrote it would be really awesome, actually, so now I'm thinking about how that would work...

As somebody who just got into letter writing/penpals/using up my stationary stash over the past few years, it was a really fun thing to undertake! I also have to say that doing epistolary fic in the guise of a character is something I hadn't thought of and absolutely love (esp. since I splurged a while back on a wax stamp with the Beoulve family crest...).

I too once did some snail mail rp (set in the nineteenth century where writing between long distance friends would make sense even), although it sadly fizzled out.

That sounds super fun! And...yeah, I sort of bought a wax seal for my FFXIV character at GenCon /o\ (Very simple, just a fancy R because that's how he signs his letters anyway, but still). I gotta start mailing SOMETHING to use all this stuff.

Where do you get custom seals, anyway? :o That sounds so awesome ngl

I got my wax seal on Etsy after realizing I'd already spent way more time than I needed to recreating House Beoulve's dorktastic heraldic animal and it would be easy to vectorize. I too felt the need to justify the purchase afterwards and subsequently acquired a few penpals and made my mom happy by sending her cards on the regular. Fic writing is the latest frontier. :)
