It's a lazy Easter morning, and I'm reflecting happily on the past month. Things have continued to be incredibly chill, with one reasonably good thing happening after another.


I finished another dissertation chapter. I somehow successfully managed to make a successful offer on a house during the insane market of 2022 (fingers crossed as I move towards closing). I managed to crawl my way back up to doing 6 mile runs (fingers crossed as I move towards 7). I've actually had time to get outside and attend more local drag shows and academic lectures. I bought a book by George Moore for my next chapter and unexpectedly discovered it was signed.

I haven't been writing much fic or baking many cakes as of late. I've been hitting a wall as to new ideas (there are only so many ways to get Zalbag Beoulve and Wiegraf Folles to hook up), and I gave up sugar for Lent (despite my atheism, cultural elements of Catholicism still have their claws in me). I have, however, been seized with a sudden mania for updating my Neocities page, and it has gained a new layout, a music section, a few new info pages, and a number of fun Easter eggs over the past week.

I'm hoping things continue as they have for a while, as I'm very ready to have life keep going well for me after the past few years.

I hope you only gave up sugar via candy and cakes and the like!
I can never think of something worthwhile to give up, so I just save up money and make a donation at the end of Lent to the local food-bank. XD;

That honestly sounds like a far better use of Lenten than the typical Lenten sacrifice! As for my sugarlessness, it was honestly something I sort of did to keep a relation sticking to their sugarlessness for the season. (We differed a little. They gave up anything whatsoever with added sugar, while I allowed myself maple syrup, honey, and artificial sweeteners.)

I'm not very creative in this manner, but it's worked out for about the past three years. *lol*
Oh, I see! (Well, artificial sweeteners are not the same as sugar anyway! Practically no carbs)
